Rob Silbaugh
Rob Silbaugh, Director of Major Gifts
“My job is friend raising, not fundraising.” These words may come as a surprise from a director of fundraising, but they are not a surprise if you know Rob Silbaugh. The seven words above reflect the Vincentian spirit of generosity and compassion that lives in Rob, the Director of Major Gifts at The Central Association of the Miraculous Medal (CAMM). Rob was hired in February 2008 to find and cultivate individuals who would be interested in supporting CAMM through short- and long-term financial funding.
Rob, an avid skier and outdoorsman, attended Niagara University – a Vincentian institution – located in New York state. He arrived at the university with a long history of volunteer work, which he continued throughout his college years. For his unselfish efforts, Rob was awarded with the St. Vincent de Paul Award upon graduation. This annual award is given to an individual who best embodies the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul. After graduation, Rob worked at a number of Wall Street firms and at other financial and non-profit institutions. A few years ago, dinner with a good friend reconnected him with the Vincentian community and a job offer. This current job, Director of Major Gifts, “is the best thing I’ve done in my life,” says Rob. “I feel like I’ve come back home, I’ve come full circle. It’s an honor and privilege to be working with the Vincentians.” Rob is also humbled by the generosity of CAMM’s donors. “I am very grateful to all our donors for their support. I can’t say ‘thank you’ enough. Without them we would not be here and carrying on Mary’s message or the works of St. Vincent de Paul.”
If you are planning your estate or want to purchase an annuity, please contact Rob at 215-848-1010 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). He always has time for you, his friends.
Lizanne Magarity Pando
Lizanne Magarity Pando, Director of Communications
Though Lizanne came from a long history in the Automobile business, she is no stranger to the Priests and brothers of St. Vincent de Paul, the Vincentians. “My father was forever running fundraisers for one parish thing or another. And we were expected to help when we were told. Some where along the line I learned to love the work of the Vincentians and learned a thing or two about fundraising and marketing.”
“We grew up in Immaculate Conception parish, here in Germantown, as did my parents. We had many friends, young and old who were Vincentians. Some have passed on but many of them are still working today. I am truly honored to work for such great men.”
Lizanne is a graduate of Mount St. Joseph’s Academy in Flourtown, University of Delaware, BA in Chemistry and Business. She has worked for McNeil Pharmaceutical, Magarity Chevrolet & Ford, and started a center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for those with Down Syndrome by creating a Buddy Walk for Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) at Villanova that still continues today.
She is married 20 years to her husband, Jim, and has two daughters, Cyndi – 11 and Jenna – 10.
When things need to be creative or you need to get the word out there, Lizanne is the one to call. She is always willing to listen and loves to help.
Fr. William Allegretto, C.M.
Father William Allegretto, Assistant Director
Associate Director Fr. William Allegretto, CM, a Vincentian for 24 years, is responsible for developing an outreach parish and school program that promotes pilgrimages to the Miraculous Medal Shrine in Philadelphia. "I work with the Philadelphia archdiocese and develop workshops with the CCD children and let them know how Mary revealed herself through the Miraculous Medal," said Fr. Allegretto
Fr. Allegretto is in charge of overseeing and expanding the Miraculous Medal Shrine Volunteer Society. "We offer people the opportunity to serve as ministers of hospitality, tour guides, volunteers in the new 'Welcome Center,' ushers, lectors, and Eucharistic ministers," says Fr. Allegretto. The Shrine is dependent on the generous spirit of people who volunteer their time and talent to fill its many needs. The Shrine currently has 46 volunteers and is in need of many more.
A native of Pennsylvania, Father comes from a family with strong Marian devotion. His mother is a long-time CAMM Promoter. Fr. Allegretto's new role as Associate Director at CAMM gives him the opportunity "to help people understand Mary's role of intercession to Jesus. I'm here to help people discover and uncover those paths."
Fr. Bill describes himself as "very approachable," and looks forward to meeting and getting to know many of Mary's devotees. His office, located on the lower Shrine level, is always open to visitors.
