Prayer Book

Fr. KiernanDear Friend:

I would like very much for you to use this Prayer Book of Marian prayers from the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal located in Philadelphia, PA. It is my hope that these prayers will enrich your own spiritual life and give you peace and comfort this very day.

On November 27, 1830, St. Catherine Labouré, a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, at their Motherhouse in the Rue du Bac in Paris, had a special vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary standing on a half-globe and holding a globe in her hands. From her hands rays shone down and Catherine heard a voice saying: "these rays of light are the symbols of the graces that the Blessed Virgin obtains for those who ask them of her." I encourage you to trust in the power of the Blessed Mother in her role as intercessor by regularly praying some of the Marian prayers found in the Miraculous Medal prayer book.

I invite you to come and visit the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal or Mary's "Central Shrine" to express your faith in Mary as Intercessor and Mother of the Church.

Sincerely in Mary Immaculate,
Rev. Carl Pieber, C.M.
Director
