Advent ushers in a wonderful time of the year for people of all ages -- Christmas. Advent gives us an opportunity to prayerfully prepare for Christmas. One suggestion is to make use of the Advent Wreath. Traditionally, the wreath is made of four candles in a circle of evergreens. Three candles are violet and the fourth is rose. Each day the candles are lighted, perhaps before the evening meal -- one candle the first week, and then two candles the second week and so on until December 25th. A short prayer usually accompanies the lighting.
